Emeset 8 mg Tablet: Each film coated tablet contains Ondansetron 8 mg as Ondansetron Hydrochloride USP.
Indications

Emeset is used for:

  • Preventing nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy (in adults and children) or radiotherapy for cancer (adults only)
  • Preventing nausea and vomiting after surgery (adults only)
  • Preventing nausea and vomiting in pregnancy
Dosage & Administration

To Prevent Chemotherapy Induced Nausea & Vomiting (CINV):

Adult: The recommended adult oral dosage is 24 mg given as three 8 mg tablets in highly emetogenic chemotherapy. In case of moderately emetogenic chemotherapy the oral dose is one 8 mg tablet twice daily.

To Prevent Radiotherapy Induced Nausea & Vomiting (RINV):

Adult: The recommended oral dosage is one 8 mg tablet given 3 times daily.

To Prevent Post-Operative Nausea & Vomiting (PONV):

Adult: The recommended dosage is 16 mg given as two 8 mg tablets 1 hour before induction of anesthesia.

To Prevent Nausea & Vomiting in Pregnancy: 8 mg tablet 2-3 times daily.

Dosage Adjustment for Patients with Impaired Hepatic Function: The total daily dose of 8 mg should not be exceeded.
