Lipistat 10 mg Tab.

Lipistat is indicated as an adjunct to diet to reduce elevated total-C, LDL-C and TG levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolaemia or mixed dyslipidaemia where the primary abnormality is either elevated cholesterol or triglycerides when response to diet and other non-pharmacological measures is inadequate. Lipistat is also indicated to reduce total-C and LDL-C in patients with heterozygous and homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia. Lipistat is indicated to increase plasma HDL-C and decrease the LDL-C/HDL-C and total cholesterol/HDL-C ratios. Lipistat is indicated as an adjunct to diet for the treatment of patients with elevated serum triglyceride levels (hypertriglyceridaemia), and for the treatment of patients with dysbetalipoproteinaemia who do not respond adequately to diet. Lipistat is indicated for the reduction of cardiac ischaemic events in patients with asymptomatic or mildly to moderately symptomatic coronary artery disease with a LDLC of at least 3.0 mmol/L and a triglyceride level of no more than 5.6 mmol/L. Lipistat is indicated in hypertensive patients with multiple risk factors for coronary heart disease (CHD), which may include diabetes, history of stroke or other cerebrovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease or existing asymptomatic CHD to reduce the risk of non-fatal myocardial infarction and non-fatal stroke. Lipistat is also indicated in patients with type 2 diabetes, with at least one other risk factor for CHD, to reduce the risk of coronary and cerebrovascular events.

The usual starting dose of Lipistat is 10 mg once a day in adults and children aged 10 years or older. This may be increased if necessary by your doctor until you are taking the amount you need. Your doctor will adapt the dose at intervals of 4 weeks or more. The maximum dose of Lipistat is 80 mg once daily for adults and 20 mg once daily for children.
